Little Balkans Days is all about tradition. And one of its newest traditions will be making its return this weekend.
For the third year, Re/Max University Realty will offer tethered hot air ballon rides at te 26th annual festival. The tethered rides will be offered at 11th and Broadway streets on Saturday from 5:30 p.m. until sunset (weather permitting).
The rides reach 100-200 feet and will be available at a cost of $5 per person.
All proceeds from the ride will go to the Salvation Army Toys for Tots.
This is the second year in which tethered rides will be available to the public. In the first year, the hot air balloon took two agents into the skies.
The new tradition has already created a buzz of its own.
“We’re already getting phone calls for it,” said Mitzi Cronister, Re/Max University Realty spokesperson. “People love it. I heard from another agent that one lady said it was on her mother’s bucket list to get into a hot air balloon. We’re going to try to make that happen.”
For more information on the rides, call 231-4663.
