A fire at 102 N Magnolia St., Walnut, resulted in a total loss of the structure and its contents on Wednesday.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department responded to the fire, along with members of the Walnut and Hepler fire departments and the Crawford County EMS.
When crews arrived on the scene, the residence, which had been vacant for some time, was completely engulfed in flames.
Sheriff Dan Peak said he is not aware of any connection between this fire and any other fires, and he also did not address any hearsay about uses of the structure.
Peak said the incident will be investigated by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department and the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s office.
