Miner’s reunion
WEST MINERAL — Annual Big Brutus Miner’s Day reunion will be held at 1 p.m. at Big Brutus, West Mineral.

All retired miners and their spouses are invited to attend free of charge for an afternoon of visiting. Refreshments will be served.

Pittsburg Farmers Market
Pittsburg Farmers Market will be held from 7:30 a.m. until noon or sold out at Second and Broadway.

Gary Mevius, “The Spice Guy,” will be grilling and handing out samples. Musical guests will be Mark and Sabrina Arbuckle, and Sunflower Kiwanis Club members will be in the community booth.

Featured will be strawberries, broccoli, fingerling and new potatoes, shallots, asparagus, radishes, turnips, Swiss chard, washed, spun and bagged salad greens mix, baby spinach, lettuce, fresh mint, green onions, raw honey, natural beef, pork, chicken and eggs, sprouted wheat bread, French cookies, muffins, cupcakes, baked goods, lavender lemonade, lavender green tea, mint tea, sweet basil and tomato plants, jams, jellies, perennials, hardy ferns, shrubs, ornamental grasses, hostas, garden items, trellises, bird feeders, garden fences, bird, butterfly and bat houses, planter boxes, jewelry, journals, post cards, boxes, picture frames, greeting cards, hair bows, survivor bracelets, art, Framers Market T-shirts and many other items.

The  producer-only market accepts Vision, debit and credit cards. Anyone wishing to entertain at the market or use the community booth may call 231-3835. Those needing additional information or wishing to be part of the market may call Chuckie Hessong at 620-249-3011.

Can collection
Sunflower Kiwanis Club members will collect aluminum cans from 8 a.m. to noon at Dillon’s parking lot. Proceeds will help finance club projects for area youth throughout the year.

Scrabble Club
Pittsburg Scrabble Club will meet from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Pittsburg Public Library.

Players of all skill levels may participate. Anyone needing additional information may call Dan Lee, club director, at 620-249-2574.

Neosho car show
NEOSHO, Mo. — Neosho Rotary Club will have a benefit car, truck and bike show on the historic downtown square.

Registration will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Fee will be donations to benefit Joplin area tornado victims. Award ceremony will be at 3 p.m.

Awards will be given for the top 75 vehicles, and there will be a  “Lunch Money Class” for car owners under 21. All entrants will be eligible for door prizes, and the first 100 entries will receive dash plaques.
