It’s been a “long time coming,” but students at Pittsburg Community Middle School finally have clean, spacious locker rooms.

In March, the USD 250 Board of Education approved a request from a private donor to finance the remodeling of two rooms at PCMS to be used for locker rooms. On Monday, school and district staff, with the help of PCMS students, cut the ribbon on the $275,000 project.

The new locker rooms are not only cleaner with up-to-date equipment, they are also much larger. Instead of sharing a locker with two to three others, students now enjoy the luxury of having his or her own locker space.
