Crawford County Republican Women will have a bi-monthly meeting at 10 a.m. at the home of Amanda Minton, 1513 Woodland Terrace.
Agenda will address the Second District meeting, book donations and finalizing plans for this year’s fundraising event. Guest speakers following the business session will be State Sen. Bob Marshall, R-Fort Scott, and local florist Terri Johnson.
All persons interested in Republican politics may attend.
Pittsburg Farmers’ Market
Pittsburg Farmers’ Market will be open from 7:30 a.m. to noon at Second and Broadway.
This is a “producer-only” marketplace, meaning that all the merchandise offered has been grown, raised or made by the vendors themselves. All market vendors are located within a 75-mile radius of Pittsburg.
Offered this week will be potatoes, peppers, green beans and many other seasonal fruits and vegetables, along with baked goods, jams, health and beauty products and crafts.
In addition, Southeast Kansas Humane Society representatives will be present to offer information regarding pet adoption and the mission of the organization.
Shoppers may pay with credit, debit or Vision cards, and some produce vendors also accept Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program vouchers.

Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 will host an accredited veterans service officer with Chapter 317, Vietnam Veterans of America, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the post home, 2815 N. Joplin.
Anyone wishing to make an appointment to see the representative may call 231-2240.
Angels Among Us
A garden luncheon catered by Angels Among Us will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Timmons Tea Room, Hotel Stilwell, 703 N. Broadway.
Menu will feature chicken salad, pasta salad, fruit, cookie and beverage. Cost will be $6 per person.
Garden tours
Zone 6 Gardeners of Pittsburg will host tours of six private gardens from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tickets may be purchased at $7 at the garden market in Immigrant Park, Second and Broadway. The market will offer garden-related items from local vendors.
The tour is self-guided, and participants may visit the gardens in any order they choose.
Scrabble Club
Pittsburg Scrabble Club NASPA will meet from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Pittsburg Public Library. Players of all skill levels may participate.
