Two Pittsburg residents were taken to Crawford County Jail Tuesday afternoon for multiple charges involving drugs and children.
According to a report from the Pittsburg Police Department, at approximately 1:03 p.m. Tuesday police officers and the Kansas Bureau of |nvestigation’s Southeast Kansas Drug Enforcement Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant at 515 E. 24th Street in Pittsburg. Officers two adults and three children in the residence while serving the search warrant.
During the search, investigators located evidence related to the abuse of toxic vapors. As a result, the Pittsburg Fire Department was called to the scene to assist with airing out the toxic fumes in the residence. Crawford County EMS was also called to the scene to check the welfare of the three children ages 9, 5, and 23 months. All three children were placed into police protective custody.
Arrested at the scene was Chad Tyler Williams, 27, and Alyda Rachel Means, 25. Both reside at the residence. Both subjects were transferred to the Crawford County Jail on charges of aggravated child endangerment; abuse of toxic vapors; possession of marijuana; possession of misdemeanor drug paraphernalia.
