Yet more out-of-town rightwing gibberish was foisted upon Morning Sun readers last weekend. Kansans for Liberty is back in town. They blasted Bob Marshall last summer, and moved on to hatchet jobs on Bob Grant and Julie Menghini. Yet another attack by a shady group that won’t reveal their funding or agenda or even a return mailing address.

They printed a 4-page insert full of half-facts and nonsense, but their main point seemed to be that Julie Menghini supports schools and the people that work in them. If only they would have stopped there.

When she was a State Representative, Julie Menghini did vote to support schools, and the other services our community needs and wants. Hoorah for that! That vote saved jobs in Pittsburg and more importantly, protected programs that help our kids and other neighbors in need.

Our schools are doing well, our students are successful, and our teachers and administrators work hard to ensure that happens. Go into any one of our schools and you’ll see for yourself.

Yet this insert from Kansans for Liberty said that our students have “no math skills; they cannot read (literally) or comprehend what they read”.  That is, of course, a lie.

Page after page, the Kansans for Liberty lie, twist, and distort.

And guess what? They’re also wrong about Julie Menghini. She will be a great representative for Pittsburg and for District 3.
