SFA has a drawing at the end of every nine weeks for all the kids who meet their get there reading goals. SFA stands for “Success For All Reading Program.” Students who get their bookmarks filled are eligible for rewards. Prizes are purchased through fundraising and candle sales in the elementary. Pencil sales and box tops also help towards the prizes. Grades K-6 can participate in SFA.
Mrs. Becky Smith, SFA facilitator said, “The kids read 20 minutes every night and get a parent to sign the bookmark and if they complete the bookmark it goes in the nine weeks' drawing.”
They have a big prize that one lucky student can receive and that is a bike. This nine weeks' lucky kid was Kylie Caswell. When receiving the bike, Kylie told Mrs. Smith, “I already have a bike, so I am going to give it to my big sister since it is a big bike.”
