Pittsburg police arrested two people Thursday in relation to the recent armed robberies at Casey’s General Store and Dillon’s.
The first, a juvenile Hispanic male, age 14, of Pittsburg, was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Thursday and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery. The second, Raul Gonzalez, 18, of Pittsburg, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of stolen property.
“We had surveillance video and we were able to develop leads,” said Lt. Tim Tompkins, Pittsburg Police Department. “Off of those leads, we were led to a potential identification. We made contact and it went in the direction we had hoped and an arrest was made.”
The arrests were related to the robberies at Casey’s General Store on March 9 and Dillon’s on Tuesday, both at gunpoint. Tompkins said these arrests are not believed to be connected to the armed robbery of the Short Stop on March 8, but that “we never rule out any possibilities.”
If anyone has information related to these or other crimes, they are encouraged to call 231-1700. Callers may remain anonymous if reporting criminal activity.
