Country Christmas

GIRARD — Girard Lions Club will sponsor a country Christmas program from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Triple S Steakhouse, 281 S. Summit, Girard.

Country, gospel and Christmas music will be presented by the Duling Family, along with Jeff Simpson on harmonica, vocalist Ginelle Esry, Jason Richison on guitar, Jon Harden on fiddle and Tyler Bennett on piano. There will also be other guest performers.
Snacks will be available at the show. Free-will donations will be accepted at the door to support the Girard Ministerial Alliance’s work to help local families in need.

Children’s program

Pittsburg Presbyterian Church will have a special children’s Christmas program at 10:15 a.m.

The program, “A Virtual Christmas Pageant,” will feature the children of the church retelling the story of Jesus’ birth. It will be under the direction of Anna Noonoo and Julie Bernhardt.

Chancel choir will sing “Friendly Beasts” under the direction of Susan Laushman.
Refreshments will be served following the service, which will be open to the entire community.

SNPJ party

ARMA — SNPJ Lodge 225 will host its annual Christmas party for members and their guests at noon at the Arma American Legion Hall.

Duck calls

FORT SCOTT — Jase Robertson from “Duck Dynasty” will speak at 7 p.m. at Fort Scott Memorial Hall. Doors will open at 6;30 p.m.

The program, sponsored by Adam and Jennifer LaRoce and the Fort Scott Nazarene Church, will be open free to the public.
