Girard led Columbus 13-0 at 10:35 in the second quarter but two Girard fumbles inside its own 20 helped Columbus take a 14-13 halftime lead. Neither team scored in the third quarter and Girard broke that streak in the fourth with a touchdown for a 19-14 score. Girard stopped Columbus on a fourth-and-20 play at the Girard 38 with 1:52 remaining and held on for a 19-14 win at Frank Jameson Field. Girard improves to 2-1 on the season and plays Southeast (3-0) next Friday night.
