A Pittsburg man is in the hospital at KU Medical Center in Kansas City after sustaining injuries related to homemade explosives.
According to a report from the Pittsburg Police Department, on Friday, July 13, at 1:23 a.m., officers responded to 2013 S. Locust in reference to a homemade explosives accident. The officers found that Timothy W. Ritter, 25, had sustained non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to Via Christi Hospital and later transferred to KU Med.
The Kansas Highway Patrol Bomb Squad, the Kansas Fire Marsha|l’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives assisted with the investigation, the report said. Precursor agents to make homemade explosives were located inside the residence, but investigators did not locate any active devices.
