Pittsburg Farmers Market
Pittsburg Farmers Market will open at 7:30 a.m. and run until noon or sold out at Second and Broadway.
Southeast Kansas Humane Society representatives will be at the community booth with information on animals available for adoption. They will also be selling items to raise funds for homeless animals at the society’s shelter.
Produce available will include sweet corn, okra, tomatoes, radishes, chard, green beans, eggplant, potatoes, onions, green peppers, yard-long beans, zucchini, yellow summer squash, pattypan squash, watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, garlic, mint, cilantro, dill sage, lemon grass and chives, eggs, honey, pecans, aloe plants, bedding plants, a wide variety of jellies and jams, baked goods, handmade rugs and other woven items, wooden bowls, lip balm, soap, quilts, purses and totes.
Shoppers may pay with credit, debit or Vision cards, and some produce vendors also accept Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program vouchers.

Veterans service officer
Pittsburgh American Legion Post 64 will host an accredited veterans service officer with Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 317 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the post home, 2815 N. Joplin.
Anyone wishing to make an appointment with the veterans service officer should call 231-2240.

Scrabble Club
Pittsburg Scrabble Club NASPA 613 will meet from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Pittsburg Public Library. Players of all skill levels are welcome. Anyone needing additional information may call club director Dan Lee at 620-249-2574.
