Charlie and Betty Gates of Girard celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on July 14, 2012 with a dinner reception held at Frontenac Senior Citizens Building hosted by their Daughter and Granddaughter, Connie and Hope Gates of Joplin, Mo.
Charlie Gates & Betty Murphy were married on July 4, 1962 at The Lebanon Methodist Church, rural Girard, Kansas.
The couple has two children, Connie Gates of Joplin Mo and Robert Gates (deceased) and one Granddaughter, Hope Gates of Joplin Mo.
The Gates’ have lived in Crawford County most of their lives residing in Ringo since 1970.
