To the editor,

I’ve been involved in Republican political activities since 1960 and have had the opportunity to know and access various candidates in that span of time. There are those that are like sparklers that for a short period of time appear brilliant and starlike and there are those that are like the salt of the earth: solid, thoughtful and responsible.

In the Republican Party at the present time, we have a contest to determine the nominee candidacy for the 13th Senatorial District. One candidate is a capable young person who has served as a liaison for our current Congresswoman and the other candidate who is the incumbent, a man whom I’ve respected for many years.

Bob Marshall is a thoughtful, serious man who, if given the opportunity to serve again, will listen to any person he represents and will give attention to their interests. He’s a man of high character; one who gives credence to the adage of a man’s word is his bond. That’s Bob Marshall.

In over 50 years of political activity, I’ve not known anyone who better fills the role of representing the public. He’s truly the best.

On Aug. 7, I’d urge all Republicans and those who are eligible to vote in the Republican primary to cast their vote for Bob Marshall, state senator.
