The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Tuesday that the Fort Scott Community College volleyball team was awarded the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 season.
The award honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA on a 4.0 scale. The Greyhounds were one of only 13 NJCAA programs to earn this award.
“I am so proud of our young ladies,” head coach Lindsay Hill said. “We set academic goals in August and I am proud that they reached those goals.”
