Veterans service representative

A veterans service representative will be at the Homer Cole Community Center, 3003 N. Joplin, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Anyone needing veterans assistance may contact Ryan Robinson at 620-331-0540. Those wishing additional information may call the center at 231-9773.

Rotary Club

Pittsburg Rotary Club will meet at noon in dePaul Hall, Via Christi Hospital. Program will be given by Steve Coen of the Kansas Health Foundation.
Joe Grisolano will give the invocation and song leader will be Mark Werner. Sherry Elkins will have introductions, and Becky May will serve as sergeant at arms.

Pittsburg Lions board

Pittsburg Lions Club will have a monthly board meeting at 6 p.m. in the Sheridan Room, Via Christi Hospital. Susan Faucett, president, will preside.

Music/dance night

Music and dance night will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Homer Cole Community Center.

Area musicians will provide music for listening and dancing. There is a $1 admission fee. Refreshments will be potluck, and those attending are asked to bring finger foods. The center will provide coffee and punch.
Anyone needing additional information may call the center at 231-9773.

Scottish Rite

FORT SCOTT — Coffee and doughnuts will be served at 8 a.m. every Tuesday at the Scottish Rite Center, 110 S. Main, Fort Scott.

There will be no set agenda or predetermined topic, simply conversation among friends. Everyone is welcome to attend,  and need not be Scottish Rite members or Masons.  Men attending are welcome to bring their wives or friends.

ARMA TOPS

ARMA — The ARMA TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

Chapter meetings include private weigh-in, information on good nutrition, educational programs and moral support and encouragement to help members reach their weight loss goals.

Annual membership is $28. Anyone interested in finding out about this chapter may call 620-347-4021 or 620-235-1790.  Those wishing to learn more about TOPS, a non-profit organization with more than 200,000 members worldwide, may call 1-800-932-8677 or visit the web site at www.tops.org.

Arma bingo

ARMA — Arma American Legion will have bingo night, starting with early bird games at 6:30 p.m. Regular games will follow immediately after the early bird games.

Zumba class

Jessica Wakeman will offer a zumba class from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Homer Cole Community Center, 3003 N. Joplin.

There will be a $5 fee for the class. Anyone needing additional information may call the center at 231-9773.

Elks bingo

Pittsburg Elks Lodge will host bingo night, open to the public. Doors will open at 5 p.m., with card sales at 5:30 p.m. and mini games at 6 p.m.  Regular games begin at 6:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be available.

Cake progressive will be $263 and super progressive  will be $621. Blackout will be 56 numbers or less for $300. Cherrystripper pull tabs are available, along with Wizard of Oz dime pull tabs.

The lodge is now collecting canned food items for Christmas baskets and those bringing two canned food items will get one free bingo special.

Wing night

Wing night will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pittsburg American Legion Post 64, 2815 N. Joplin, for members and their guests.

There will be a choice of four flavors of wings and fries.
