Golden LivingCenter Pittsburg takes another step forward in serving the Pittsburg community and invites everyone to attend the grand re-opening of its Alzheimer’s care unit and Advanced Alzheimer’s care unit on Thursday, Sept. 20 from 1-3 p.m. There will be a special ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce at 1 p.m.
Many people with Alzheimer’s or related memory disorders may experience difficulty with independence and freedom in their current living arrangements. Golden Living’s Alzheimer’s care unit and Advanced Alzheimer’s care unit provides an alternative in residential health care for residents with Alzheimer’s or similar conditions. Every aspect, from the decor to the meals to the quiet atmosphere, creates a soothing, homelike setting and lifestyle that promote dignity and allow memory-impaired residents to live life to the fullest.
“We want to provide an experience that makes our residents feel like they did in their prior home,” said Pat Cranston, Golden LivingCenter Pittsburg executive director. “We help preserve our residents’ precious exeperiences of life while offering a long-term care solution that they and their families will feel good about. Our company’s philosophy is to adapt to their needs, not re-orient them to ours.”
The unit has special features such as a resident kitchenette, dining room, secure walking path, and activity areas. A safe home, all exterior entrance doors are secured and alarmed to ensure the residents’ well being.
“Our dedicated and trained Alzheimer’s staff will be on hand to explain the benefits of our special design features, services and programming,” Cranston said. “If you are unable to visit us during our grand re-opening, please stop by any time. We’d like to meet you and give you a tour.”
Golden LivingCenter Pittsburg provides quality health care for up to 86 residents, including those needing skilled nursing, rehabilitative and Alzheimer’s care. The nursing home is located at 1005 E. Centennial in Pittsburg and can be reached by calling 231-1120.
