Southeast High School chapter of the National Honor Society recently inducted 26 new members. Southeast High School National Honor Society held an initiation ceremony for 26 new members Oct. 9 in the school auditorium.

To be eligible for membership, students must be at least a sophomore and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5. Qualified students may then fill out an application, including two essays, two reference letters and a list of their community service and participation records in activities both inside and outside of school.

Lastly, a committee composed of faculty and staff members evaluate applications and can give applicants up to five recommendation points.

Southeast USD 247 Board of Education, school  administration, faculty and staff  indicated that they are extremely proud of the school’s National Honor Society members for all the hard work they do in the schools and the community.

Current NHS members are Kayla Jones, Rachael Holden, Marina Stricklin, Chloe Biancarelli, Audey Hamblin, Rachel Bole and Leslie Fenske.
