Church anniversary
Mt. Hebron Baptist Church will celebrate its 126th anniversary at 3 p.m. at the church, 710 N. Elm.
Guest speaker will be Rev. Chris Horn, Sardis Missionary Baptist Church, Coffeyville. The celebration will be open to the entire community.
Thanksgiving service
Pittsburg Ministerial Association will present a community Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. at the Pittsburg Presbyterian Church.
The service will focus on giving thanks for all those who serve, with special music by the church choir, the Pittsburg Presbyterian Bells and the Pittsburg Community Middle School eighth grade choir under the direction of Virginia Darling.
An offering will be accepted for Project Warmth, which provides utility assistance to those in need.
Turkey shoot
CHEROKEE — Cherokee American Legion will sponsor a turkey shoot, trap and still, at the Cherokee Gun Club. Gates will open at 9 a.m.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Prizes will include turkey, bacon and cheese. All proceeds will go toward children’s Christmas with Santa and food baskets for those in need.
Cherokee Gun Club is located one mile south of Highway 400 on No. 7 Highway, then 3/4 mile east.
Fort Scott Country Music
FORT SCOTT — Fort Scott Country Music Show will be at 2 p.m. in Fort Scott Memorial Hall with special guest Haylie Walter, who was a former singer with the Fort Scott Jubilee for seven years.
Also performing will be the Swingin’ West Band with Dewayne Bowman on guitar and vocals; Ginelle Esry, vocalist; Scotty Henderson, steel guitar and vocalist; Gale Richey, keyboard and vocalist; Ronnie Blecher, drummer; Ernie Reed, fiddle; Randy Vanderpool, bass guitar and vocalist; and Jason Richison, sound system, guitar and vocalist.
Admission will be $12 at the door. Those 15 and younger will be admitted free.
Italian Heritage Society
Italian Heritage Society will have a monthly dinner at 5 p.m. at Chicopee. Members should bring a side dish.

Elks bingo
Pittsburg Elks Lodge will host holiday bingo, open to the public. Doors will open at 5 p.m., with card sales at 5:30 p.m. and mini games at 6 p.m. Regular games begin at 6:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be available.
All five regular specials will be $100 payout.
