GHS seniors Madison Smith and Kaitlyn Threlfall participate in the first of three Seatbelts Are For Everyone surveys this year. On Nov. 14-15 twelve SAFE members checked all drivers and passengers entering the high school parking lots to determine the percentage of people wearing seatbelts. The SAFE program, under the direction of SRO Bryan Burks, has been active in Girard the last five years. The first year GHS received the most percentage increase in students wearing their seatbelt award, and last year GHS received the award for the highest percentage of drivers wearing their seatbelts out of the six district schools.
