Dear Editor,
The proposal from Pittsburg State University to the City of Pittsburg to quote Kaye Lynn Webb, “is a win, win, win, win for everybody involved”. This is a proposal that Pittsburg can’t refuse. To put the proposal to a vote of the people isn’t necessary as no taxes will be raised. The Commission and city officials should negotiate the terms of funding. The commission recently approved a forgivable loan for $700,000 to a company that is supposed to create 5 jobs a year for 3 years. The Pitt State proposal’s long term effect is so much greater not only in jobs created but in events brought in. If Pittsburg truly wants to be progressive, this proposal must be approved and not drag our feet in getting it done.
