At the hearing Tuesday, one speaker gave Mr. Hall credit for pursuing the cleanup of the city. The cleanup started years ago. The recycling, and the group of citizens who regularly hold days for pickup in the city and along the bypass. Also, the city had the large item curbside pickup. They have been enforcing the cleaning and repair or demolition of derelict housing. Now, the recycling center in cooperation with the city has a furniture disposal. The dump will receive private dumping at the dump site one day per month.

My experience has been that the people with whom I contract, pick up on the same day, time and place, my responsibility is to have the container on the curb for them to take.

It doesn’t bother me to have two or three trash trucks drive past my house anymore than it does to have two or three mail trucks come into the neighborhood each day. Maybe the federal government should take over mail service. Ohh never mind.
