PITTSBURG —
The Pittsburg freshmen rolled over Chanute Monday night at Hutchinson Field.
The Purple Dragons led 20-6 at halftime and went on to win 34-6.
Spencer Turnbull and Chiantia Allen started the scoring for Pittsburg — Turnball on the pass and Allen the receiving end of a 70-yard touchdown.
The remainder of the Pittsburg scoring came through its ground attack — two short touchdown runs by Jessie Thomas and two longer touchdown runs by Sherrick Rogers. Thomas bolted in both times from 4 yards and Rogers made his runs from 25 and 36 yards out. Isaiah Bittle and Turnbull added conversion runs for the Dragon attack.
