The 2012-2013 GHS Yearbook Staff attended the Jostens Yearbook Conference at Pittsburg State University Sept. 5 to learn techniques to improve the book’s quality and design this year’s cover.
While at the conference, members viewed several presentations on how to improve photo quality, create better page layouts and improve page designs. They also met with Jostens artists to create the cover for the 2012-2013 yearbook.
Regarding the conference, senior Hope McLeod said, “The Yearbook Conference is a very nice way for us to get together as a staff and learn how to better capture the memories of all the students in our school.”
Jason Day, who is the new instructor, said, “I feel very lucky to have such a great staff as a first-year yearbook teacher. They are great representatives of the high school and the community as a whole.”
Staff members include Morgan Sevart, Cassidy Thomason and Sara Wiens, business managers; Kelci Murphy and Taylor Redfern, photo editors; Aubri Ashbacher, McKenna Belcher and Christian Provence, text editors; and Stephanie Moutz and Hope McLeod, design editors.
The staff will work year-round to create this year’s edition, covering all school events until graduation.
