UPDATE: The story has been updated with the victim's name.

A man was found shot in the face on Saturday in Pittsburg.

Close to 5 p.m., Pittsburg Police responded to the area of Olive Street and the U.S. 69 Bypass. Upon arrival, officers found a man, 19, who had a gunshot wound in his face. The victim was treated at the scene by Crawford County EMS and taken to Freeman Hospital in Joplin by LifeFlight.

Monday, the victim was identified as Michael U. Tallie Jr., 19, Frontenac.

No suspect has been identified at this time, but investigators are pursuing several leads. Officers searched two houses in the 1900 block of JFK Street for a possible suspect, but did not locate anyone.

The victim, as of 11 p.m. Saturday, was reported to be in stable condition.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with any information related to this or any other crime are urged to call 231-1700. Callers may remain anonymous when reporting criminal activity.
