Golden Living Center will host bingo, open to the public, at 1 p.m. at the Homer Cole Community Center, 3003 N. Joplin.

Library movie
Pittsburg Public Library will present “Monday Night at the Movies,” a free program for young adults entering seventh through 12th grades, at 6 p.m. every Monday from June 4 through July 23.
The library will present a popular movie chosen by the Young Adult Advisory Council, shown on a big screen with a theater quality sound system. Free snacks will be served.
Featured this week will be a film based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic detective novels featuring Sherlock Holmes. It is rated PG13.
Anyone needing additional information may stop by the library or call the PPL Youth Services Department at 231-8110.
Faith Lutheran VBS
“Back to Jerusalem” will be the theme of the Faith Lutheran Church Vacation Bible School, scheduled from 8 to 11:30 a.m. June 18-22.
Youngsters from pre-school through sixth grade may attend. Activities will include Bible study, crafts, music, a snack, recreation and a free lunch.
The church is located at 1233 S. 220th Street, south of Meadowbrook Mall. Anyone needing additional information may call 620-232-1506.
Quilt Guild
Little Balkans Quilt Guild will meet at 7 p.m. at the Pittsburg Presbyterian Church.
A brief business session will be conducted, and then the guild will have its annual sewing notions, fabric, equipment and rummage sale. Visitors are welcome to attend.
Rebecca Brubaker, director of Safehouse, will accept this month’s donation quilts.

GIRARD — TOPS Group #0975, Girard, meets Mondays at the Girard Presbyterian Church. Weigh-in begins at 4:45 p.m., with the meeting following.

Card games will be played from 1 to 4 p.m. every Monday except holidays at the Frontenac Senior Citizens Building. Primary game is pinochle, but any card game is welcome.

TOPS No. 599 (Take off Pounds Sensibly) meets every Monday at College Heights United Methodist Church.
Private weigh-ins are from 5:30 to 6:20 p.m. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m. and are designed to provide motivation and support to help members reach their weight loss goals.
