Dear Editor,
The good old boys are back. Now the Chamber of Commerce is going to take over economic development. Again 2 of the commissioners who voted for this are up for reelection. The Morning Sun in their editorial on December 16 hit the nail on the head in their assessment of the whole thing. If the Morning Sun hadn’t wrote about this underhanded deal the taxpayers wouldn’t have known what was going on. The deal was done before the citizens knew anything.
Some of the commissioners say they don’t receive any negative phone calls. People stop me all of the time and ask me what is going on,as if I know. I ask them why they don’t call the commissioners,their answer is always the same,the commission is run by the Chamber of Commerce without common people in mind at all. The Mayor is the only one who has any idea of what is going on with the average person.
Now that Superman has taken over the Trash Task Force and economic development what is next Police Dept, Fire Dept or whatever. Maybe we can just move the Chamber office to City Hall and do away with everyone working there. By the way how many jobs has the Chamber created??
