Via Christi Hospital Pittsburg, Inc. President & CEO Randy Cason announced that Mike Joy has accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer for the hospital. Joy has served the ministry for 20 years, starting in 1993 as a Staff Accountant. In his time at Via Christi, he has progressed through leadership roles that include Director of Accounting, Controller, and Supply Chain Director.
“Mike has demonstrated excellent leadership in these roles at our ministry,” Cason said. “We are extremely confident he will continue that success in his new role as our Chief Financial Officer.”
Joy is known throughout Pittsburg for his long standing community involvement that includes volunteering as a coach at the Pittsburg Family YMCA, participating in Leadership Crawford County, and serving as a member of the USD 250 Pittsburg Board of Education from 2005 – 2009.
“Being involved in community activities is something that has always been very important not only to myself, but my entire family,” Joy said. “My wife and I have been fortunate enough to call Pittsburg home and raise two wonderful children here.”
Joy graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Minor in Economics. Joy begins his role as CFO on Monday, January 28, 2013, and will collaborate on the transition with current CFO Deb Cartwright. In the interim Joy will also act as Supply Chain Director.
