Midwest Minerals 11, Jake’s Fireworks 6
Jake’s jumped out to an early 3-1 lead against Midwest Minerals after the first inning. But Midwest Minerals rallied back and then some, scoring 10 runs in the next three innings en route to an 11-6 win in Minor League softball on Tuesday night.
Hayslip went 4-4 with four runs to lead Midwest Minerals, while Ashley Marietta hit two doubles in her two at-bats and scored twice to help in the effort for Jake’s.
Mendez DDS 8, 99.1 The Ticket 4
A big first two innings proved to be enough for Mendez DDS on Tuesday night, as all eight of their runs came in the opening innings. Those eight runs would prove to be enough, as the team outlasted 99.1 The Ticket, 8-4.
Lexy Robinson and Gabi Radell each hit a double to help Mendez DDS, and Robinson scored two runs on 3-3 hitting during the game. 99.1 The Ticket had a double by Emily Imhof, and a 3-3 night from Shrivor.
Monday, July 2
Midwest Minerals 11, Mendez DDS 4
Kaitlyn Hayslip led Midwest Minerals to advance in Minor League softball on Monday night with two doubles on 4-4 hitting, scoring three runs to lead the team to an 11-4 win over Mendez DDS.
Autumn Claffey also helped out, with 3-3 hitting and two runs scored. Mendez DDS had a good performance out of Lexy Robinson, who doubled and went 2-2 with one run scored.
Jake’s Fireworks 6, 99.1 The Ticket 4
99.1 The Ticket opened the game with strong hitting, but Jake’s rallied in the third inning to seize a 6-4victory on Monday night.
Jake’s advanced thanks to Ashley Marietta’s double on 2-2 hitting with one run scored. Allison Marietta also went 2-2 with one run scored. Emily Imhof led 99.1 with 3-3 hitting and one run scored.
Ted Carnino League 9-year-old All-Star Game
American League 9, National League 5
The American League used a powerful five-run first inning to race past the National League 9-5 on Tuesday night. J.W. Johnson hit a double for the American League and went 3-3 in his at-bats, earning MVP honors for the winning team.
Piccini and Wilks also added triples for the American League. The National League was led by team MVP Cooper Ratzlaff, who went 3-3 during the game. Dellasega had a double for the National League, as well.
Ted Carnino League 10-year-old All-Star Game
American League 14, National League 11
The American and National Leagues entered the final inning tied at 9, but the American bats were too much for the National League All-Stars, winning 14-11.
Cooper Cleland was named team MVP for the American League, hitting 3-3 and scoring two runs. Elkamil and Van Becelaere also did well for the American League, each going 3-3 and scoring three and two runs, respectively. Elkamil and James had doubles for the American League.
The National League was led by team MVP Mac Biggs, who went 3-3 and scored one run. Hemby, Berryman, Duncan and Boekhout each had a double in the losing effort.
