The PSU English department has announced the formation of an informal, non-credit writing group for military veterans and active-duty or reserve military personnel from southeast Kansas and the four-state region.
The group is also open to the immediate families of veterans.
“We want to have a group where veterans can validate their experiences and develop their voices as writers,” said PSU English professor Paul “Skip” Morris. “Everyone has a story to tell, and everyone’s story is important.”
Any veteran with an interest in fiction, poetry or memoir may join the group and share work with other veterans and writers. The group is open to both beginning and experienced writers, PSU students and area residents.
First meeting will be at 4 p.m. Feb. 14 in room 312, Grubbs Hall. Group meetings will continue on a regular basis to be determined by participants.
