Pittsburg State sophomore Lizzy Jeronimus has been named a Capital One First-Team Academic All-District selection by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced on Thursday.
The award recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom.
Jeronimus is the Gorillas’ and the MIAA’s leading scorer, averaging 19.1 points per game. She shoots .508 from the floor overall and .795 from the free throw line. She leads the Gorillas with 43 assists and 20 steals on the season and is the second-leading rebounder with 6.6 rebounds per game.
The 5-11 forward from Lenexa is a management major with a 3.81 GPA.
Jeronimus will now advance to the Capital One Academic All-America team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team honorees will be chosen.
