The St. Paul Elementary second graders recently helped make a quilt. Their teacher, Mrs. Susan Vitt, instructed the second graders to pick their own theme for the quilt. Each student drew and colored a picture on to a square.
The squares were then sewn together and finished by Mrs. Janie Kennedy. Mrs. Kennedy, a local quilt maker, helps put the quilt together each year and says “It’s fun to work with the kids, and to see all their creative ideas.”
Second graders Landon Beachner, and Chloe Seme said, “The best part about making the quilt is being able to draw whatever you want.” They were excited to see their finished quilt.

Second graders Gennie Vitt & Sophia Albertini said “It was fun to do a quilt.”
They had a great time because the second graders never made a quilt before.

There will be a raffle drawing for the quilt at the last home basketball game on February 19, 2013. All the money earned from the quilt will go to the St. Paul Elementary Reading Program.
