PSU photography seminar
Pittsburg State University Student Association of Photographers will host a “Prospectives of Photography seminar. Registration will begin at 8 a.m.
Guest speakers will be Jessica Edward’s, John Hacker, Matt Hicks and Noppadol Pathong. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Cost will be $20 for the general public, $5 for college and high school students with ID, and free for PSU students with ID.
Book sale
Friends of the Pittsburg Public Library will have a “Book Lovers Book Sale” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the PPL meeting room.
Hundreds of items will be available, including hardback and paperback books, library discards, DVDs, CDs and more. Besides the usual selection of mystery, fiction, western and romance books, there will also be some special interest items, including several British and American literature series, books about Native Americans and a history of the writings of Beatrix Potter.
The sale will be open to the entire community. Friends of the PPL raise money to purchase library materials and fund a variety of programs throughout the year, including the summer reading programs.
Elks breakfast
Pittsburg Elks Lodge 412 will serve breakfast, open to the public, from 8 to 11 a.m.
Menu will feature pancakes or French toast with bacon and sausage, along with coffee, tea, milk or orange juice.
Spaghetti dinner
ARMA — Arma American Legion Post 182 will serve a spaghetti dinner, open to the public, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Menu will feature spaghetti with meatballs, tossed salad, garlic bread and dessert. Carry-outs will be available. Cost will be a $6 donation, with children 6 and younger eating free.
