A one-vehicle rollover accident Thursday evening resulted in the driver being airlifted with a head injury and three children being transported with minor injuries.

Crawford County Deputies responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident in the ditch at Parkview and Willard streets in Frontenac.

A 1995 Toyota 4Runner, driven China Helene Trester, 33, of Iola, was traveling northbound on Parkview when it veered off the roadway and entered the east ditch, struck an embankment and rolled.

Frontenac Fire and Rescue, Crawford County EMS, Frontenac Police Department, Eagle Med, Kansas Highway Patrol and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene, where Trester was found pinned in her vehicle and unconscious.

Trester was airlifted to Freeman Hospital in Joplin, and her three children, ages 8,7, and 6 years old, were transported to Via Christi then released.

Initial investigation indicates that all three children were properly restrained, but that Trester was not. The accident remains under investigation by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.
