Three members of the Pitt State men’s and women’s indoor track & field contingent competed at the 2013 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships on Friday.
Senior Emily Ballock narrowly missed advancing to finals in the women’s 800 meters. She posted the 11th fastest time in the race, crossing the finish line in 2 minutes, 11.68 seconds. The Eudora native shaved nearly a full second off her previous personal best in the event (2:12.53).
In other action Friday, sophomore Jordan Riffel finished 12th in the prelims of the men’s 200 meters in 21.59 seconds. Junior Keenan Soles also placed 11th in the long jump with a best mark of 23-8.
On Saturday, senior Colbie Snyder and sophomore Jeff Piepenbrink will compete in the men’s pole vault at 3:30 p.m. and Ballock will race in the finals of the 800m at 5:30 p.m.
