Pittsburg State sophomore Lizzy Jeronimus received a second-team All-Central Region selection Thursday from Daktronics.
Jeronimus led the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in scoring with 18.4 points per game and the southpaw from Lenexa ranked first on Pitt State in minutes (788, 29.2 per game), field goals made (176), field goals attempted (358), free throws made (135), free throws attempted (178), defensive rebounds (142), assists (74), turnovers (74) and steals (26).
Jeronimus was one of five MIAA players on the first or second team, giving the conference half of the representation and more selections than the Northern Sun and Great American conferences. The Northern Sun earned four.
Laura Kinderknecht of Washburn and Keuna Flax of Central Missouri earned first team, Kate Lehman of Fort Hays State, Taylor Lewis of Northeastern State second team. Kinderknecht received Player of the Year honors.
On the men's side, the MIAA again received five selections.
Will McNeill of Washburn made first team with Bryton Hobbs of Northeastern State, Josh Gibbs of Central Oklahoma, Dominique Long of Central Missouri and Dwayne Brunson of Fort Hays State each were accorded second team status.
Clayton Vette of Winona State earned Player of the Year, averaging 20.8 points and 8.2 rebounds for the 24-7 Warriors.
