Frontenac dentist Wylie Bell of Countryside Dentistry was arrested in Olathe last week for exposing himself to a woman and her daughter while they were out for a walk, according to a report.

The report, from KCTV5 News, said Bell was working for Arbor Creek Dentistry in Olathe. A phone call to a spokesperson at Arbor Creek confirmed that Bell traveled between both clinics and that Bell was no longer employed there. His office in Frontenac declined to comment about Bell or his employment status there. Olathe Police Department representatives said they could not confirm or deny that Bell had been arrested because the case is ongoing, but Johnson County Sheriff booking records and Johnson County District Court case listings confirmed that Bell was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 7 for lewd and lascivious behavior, that he posted $2,500 bond, that he pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to appear in court later this month. The owner of the building in which the Frontenac clinic is located also confirmed that it was the same Bell.

According the witness, whom the report said wished to keep her identity secret, Wylie exposed himself to her while she was walking with her 3-year-old son in an Olathe neighborhood near W. 161st Street and South Sunset. Contact information for the woman was unavailable.
“I saw a silver Honda circling us several times,” the woman said in the report. “I thought the guy was lost. Pretty standard in a confusing neighborhood like this.”

She said Bell then allegedly exposed himself. She said that when Bell saw that she wasn’t happy about what had just happened, he drove off.
“He peeled off and I was able to get his plates,” the woman said. “I called the cops and they tracked him down about 45 minutes later.”
When a KCTV5 crew went to the address listed for Bell, a silver Honda matching the woman's description was parked outside, the report said.
“And I learned that he was a professional man,” the woman said in the report. “This isn’t something you’d expect in a community like this. This isn’t something you’d expect with a profession where you’re trusting him with your children. It’s disgusting.”

The woman has since turned information about the incident to the Board of Dentistry, according to the report. The case has been turned over to Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe, but he would not comment specifically on the case. The KCTV5 said reporters tried to contact Bell, but were turned away at his door.
