With this being an election year, it is important to vote for someone that is experienced and proven in the area of law. Michael Gayoso Jr. has proven he is the person for the job. He has a better developed knowledge of the law and prosecution because of his practice in defense. He knows both sides of the law.
I understand the need for plea bargaining and giving a second chance to anyone. Up until Mike took office 3 1/2 years ago, it seemed that second chances were the norm, over and over and over. He has a 99 percent conviction rate and has gotten prison terms for several drug cases taking a few repeat offenders off the street. I like the no-nonsense prosecution. We should be proud as a community that we have a prosecuting attorney that in the short time he has been in office has gotten a combined 600+ years of prison time and that does not count the life sentences of the murder cases he has prosecuted.
Our county attorney’s office is filled with friendly, knowledgable, approachable and helpful personnel. If you are or have been a victim of a crime, these people are truly there to help. I think that this office works well with law enforcement to make sure that crimes are being prosecuted properly. A vote for Michael Gayoso Jr. is a vote for the betterment of Crawford County.
