Donna June Dellasega, 84, of Pittsburg, KS, died 7:10 a.m. Tuesday July 27, 2010 at Villa Maria Nursing home in Mulvane, KS following a short illness.
Donna was born July 23, 1926 in Almena, KS the daughter of Claude and Inez (Barham) Runyan. She attended area schools in Almena. She was a lifelong resident of Pittsburg, KS.
On November 25, 1948 she married Bernard Vincent Dellasega in Dodge City, KS; he preceded her in death on September 5, 2001. Donna was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS; loved golfing, sewing, cooking and attending local sports events.
Survivors include children Steve Dellasega of Tulsa, OK, Charliss Korthanke and husband Jim of Robinson, KS, Dena Highberger and husband Steve of Overland Park, KS, David Dellasega of Wichita, KS and Dan Dellasega of Lenexa, KS; siblings Carol Friesen and husband Noble, Colleen Carpenter and husband Thaine, Meredith Runyan and wife Teresa and Betty Jenkins; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Monday August 2, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Chad Arnold as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Frontenac, KS. Rosary will be recited at 7pm Sunday August 1, 2010 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS; family will receive friends following the rosary. Friends may call the funeral home after 2pm on Sunday. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Our Lady of Lourdes Altar Society.
