Gerald D. Stevens, 57 of West Mineral, KS, formerly of Pittsburg, Ks died at 5:42 a.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Labette County Medical Center in Parsons, KS.
Gerald was born December 26, 1951 in Kansas City, MO to Ralph V. and Mary Roberta (Norvail) Stevens. He attended area schools.
 On February 28, 1970, he married Debrah E. Tumbleson, in Kansas City, KS. She preceded him in death on April 22, 2009.
Gerald was a farmer. He loved to be outdoors, where he could coon hunt and be around horses. He went to a lot of swaps and flea markets. He volunteered his time at the SEK Humane Society.
Survivors include his sons Gerald S. Stevens of Arcadia, KS, Troy Stevens and wife Connie of Columbus, KS, Ralph Stevens and wife Glenda of Russellville, AR and Mark Stevens and wife Cindy of Pittsburg, KS, brothers James Stevens of Tulsa, OK, Virgil Stevens of Olathe, KS, Robert Stevens of Florida, Johnny Stevens of Pittsburg, KS and Kenny Stevens of Chetopa, KS; sisters Betty Rose of Webb City, MO and Vicki Poe of Scammon, KS; along with 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, sister Roberta Bright, sister-in-law Brenda Stevens and brother-in-law Red Poe.
Memorial services will 11 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Weir, KS with Dion Edwards officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
