PITTSBURG —

Marion S. Moore, 96 of Pittsburg, KS died at 7:55 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2008 at Cornerstone Village in Pittsburg, KS.
Marion was born December 14, 1911 in Mindenmines, MO to Adolphus “Dolly” and Lottie (Chancellor) Moore. He attended schools in Mindenmines, MO.
He married Letha Robson. She preceded him in death in 1983.
Marion was a coal miner for 35 years. He worked as an oiler on a shovel.
Marion belonged to the Baptist Church in Mindenmines, MO.
He held memberships in the Miners Union.
Survivors include his sons Loren Moore and his wife Marilyn of The Villages, FL; Larry Moore and his wife Jane of Independence, MO.; daughter Marilyn Beaver and her husband Keith of Pittsburg, KS; 8 grandchildren Sherryl Chapman, Debi McFarland, Brenda Basiley, David Moore, Mark and Michael Beaver, Missy Moore and Tracy Weese; along with 12 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters and two brothers.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2008 at Rosebank Cemetery in Mulberry, KS with Pastor Daryl Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home on Friday by 1:15 p.m. to leave in procession. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway in Pittsburg, KS. Friends may call the funeral home after 3 p.m. on Thursday. E-mail condolences may be left at our Web site www.bathnaylor.com. The family suggest expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to Southern Care. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Bath-Naylor funeral Home of Pittsburg.
