Ned Jay Gould

Ned Jay Gould, age 86, passed away at 6:50 am, Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Innisfree Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rogers, AR.
Mr. Gould was born May 9, 1922 in Galena, KS.  His parents were Jessie and Susie (Compton) Gould.
Ned lived in Rogers AR since 2003 moving there from Galena, KS.  He had returned to Galena in 1987 from Los Alamitos, CA where he had lived and worked for 47 years.
He was a barber, a Minister of the Gospel, an electrical engineer, and retired in 1987 as a Building Inspector of the State of California.
He was a member of Empire Mission Church, Galena, KS.  He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Ned was first married to Delores Gilstrap on Dec. 31, 1948.  She died in May, 1994.  He married Joanne I. Lopez on Sept. 19, 1994 in Huntsville, AR.  She survives.
Additional survivors include two step children, Lisa Eisele in Coffeyville, KS and Lt. James Spriggs, US Navy stationed in Fairfax, VA.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Paul Leroy Gould and one daughter, Doris Kay Gould.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 25, 2008 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 25, 2008 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.  Pastor Jeff D Martin will officiate.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, KS.
