Nadine M. Lorenz, 81, of Parsons, died at 6:55 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012 at her home.

She was born on June 26, 1930 at Parsons to William and Marjorie (Osborn) Amrine.  She grew up at Parsons and attended Parsons schools graduating from Parsons High School in 1948.  She worked at Hallmark in Parsons for a few years.

She and Lesley E. “Les” Lorenz were married on Christmas Day in 1951 at the First Baptist Church.

She was a homemaker and later worked as the office manager at the Union Gas Company.  She was also involved with her husband’s ministry.

She was a longtime faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Parsons.  She served as a Sunday school teacher, sang in the Chancel and Keenager Choirs, she helped in the church kitchen with meals, assisted with vacation bible school in the summers, served as a youth sponsor, and participated in Macedonia Ministries.
 
She enjoyed taking care of people including her family and neighbors.  She made the best homemade ice cream and apple pie.  She also enjoyed gardening and going out for ice cream with family and friends.

Nadine is survived by two daughters, The Reverend Debi Lorenz and Connie Bolt both of Parsons; two grandsons, Jason Bolt, and his wife, Darah of Riverton and Josh Bolt, his wife, Minna of Parsons; five great-grandchildren, Bryce Bolt, Ethan Florence, Ragan Bolt, Jaxen Bolt, and Grayson Bolt; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty VanDyne and Norma Lacy.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Parsons. Burial will follow in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home from 4 to 5 Sunday afternoon.  Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church and these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home 112 N. 26th St., P.O.
