Mary L. Wynne, 79, of Mulberry, formerly of Frontenac, died at 9:05 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Girard Medical Center in Girard, Kansas.
Mrs. Wynne was born May 7, 1933 at Sultana, California the daughter of M.A. and Zola Holmes Wood. Mary was a homemaker. She lived in California in her younger years and graduated from Oakdale High School. She worked at the Motor Vehicle Department in Visalia, California. She also did traveling church work with Faye Means. She lived in Frontenac from 1978 to 1993 before moving to Mulberry. She married William “Bill” Wynne on February 9, 1978 at Miami, Oklahoma. Mr. Wynne preceded her in death July 14, 1993. She was a member of the Mulberry Holiness Church. Survivors include a sister, Irene Wood of Mulberry, four brothers, Paul Wood of Sacramento, California, Loyd Wood of Visalia, California, Delwin Wood of Visalia, California, and John Wood of Woodlake, California, three step-daughters, Mary Ann Self of Glenwood, Arkansas, Brenda Hicks of Brewton, Alabama, and Lana Rank of Dayton, Ohio, ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, Joe, Charles, David, Don (Buddy), and Maurice Wood, and a son-in-law, Troy Self.
Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma with Brother Larry Wood and Brother Leroy Hubbard officiating. Burial will be at the Rosebank Cemetery at Mulberry. Friends may call 11 A.M. to 4 P.M. Sunday at the Bedene Chapel at Arma. The family suggests memorials to the Mulberry Funeral Dinner Fund.
