Debra (Debbie) Ann Prince Roper accepted God’s call at 10:33 am Wednesday January 16, 2013 to become one of his chosen angels.
Debbie was born July 22, 1951 in Pittsburg, KS the daughter of Lawrence E. and Florence L. (Brown) Prince. She had been employed with the Joplin R-8 School District for 13 years in the Food Service Department. Debbie had also been employed at other positions in the food service industry but no position ranked as high as mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband Russell Roper of Pittsburg, KS; daughters Michelle and Jerry Pusser of Stanford, CT and Jennifer and Rodney Duncan of Blytheville, AR; siblings Tom and Brenda Prince of Arma, KS, Gary and Lori Prince of New Orleans, LA, Melvin and Judy Prince of Pittsburg, KS, Cindy Prince and Russ Edwards of Pittsburg, KS, Judy and Steve Smardo of Frontenac, KS, Mike Prince of Neodesha, KS, Theresa and Robert Rutherford of Ohio and Holly and Jason Hague of Frontenac, KS; grand-daughters Hailey and Mikala Duncan and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Debbie will be greatly missed and remembered by friends and family.
Funeral Services will be 10am Tuesday January 22, 2013 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS with Pastor Larry DeOrnellis officiating. Burial will follow at the Rosebank Cemetery in Mulberry, KS. Family will receive friends from 7-8pm Monday January 21, 2013 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS; friends may call after 2pm Monday. In lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
