CHANUTE —

Bob Stierwalt, 72, of Chanute, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Heritage Health Care Center in Chanute.

Bob was born in Urbana, Kansas on November 4, 1936, the son of Walter Gray and Muriel (Adams) Stierwalt.

He was united in marriage to Rose Shults on June 19, 1959 in Erie.  She survives of the home.
Bob was a mechanic and a tow truck driver for 40 years.

Along with his wife Rose, Bob is survived by two sons, Michael Stierwalt of Augusta, and Randy Stierwalt of Fredonia; two daughters, Misty Franklin of Farlington and Wendy Wade of Buffalo; fourteen grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and two brothers, LaVern Stierwalt of Mesa, AZ and Arnold Stierwalt of Fort Worth, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Melvin Stierwalt; and two sisters, Betty Staggs and Phyllis Cook.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel.  Burial will follow in Urbana Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel.

Memorials in his name may be made to the Southern Care Hospice in Pittsburg and may be left with the funeral home.

Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
