Carl A. Riebe, 88, of Erie, died at 12:25 p.m., Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Guest Home Estates in Erie.  He had been in failing health for two years.
He was born December 29, 1920, at Walnut,  to George M. and Minnie M. (Schueneman) Riebe.  He attended the Raymond Country School and Hepler High School, graduating in 1938. On April 21, 1946 he married Norma Hines, at Erie.  They lived in the rural Walnut area until moving to Erie in 1968.
Mr. Riebe farmed many years and also worked as a supervisor in the oil fields for the Walter Duncan Co. of Oklahoma City. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Erie.  He enjoyed doing woodworking as a hobby.
Survivors are his wife, Norma Riebe of the home; one son, Dana Riebe and his wife Debra, Pittsburg; three daughters, Audrey McCall and her husband Randy, Moran, Rhonda Craven, Wichita, and Tari Emery and her husband Rob, Pittsburg; eight grandchildren, Travis McCall and his wife, Mindy, Sheila Newman and her husband Brent, Tiffany Willard and her husband Joey, Mystique Guerrero and her husband Rudy, Sunni Stipp and her husband Anthony, Vanessa Kramer and her husband Jason, T.J. Ensch and his wife Kathreen and Marcella Ensch; and twelve great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death was a brother, George Riebe
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at the First Baptist Church in Erie, with burial to be in the East Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday.
