Funeral service for Gina LeAnn Clayborn Scroggins, 42, Pryor, will be held on Monday, July 28, 2008, 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church, Salina. 
Reverend Johnny Faught will officiate; Branson Perry and Texas Gaskins will be the speakers.  Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Chetopa, Kansas, 2:00 PM on Monday.  Services are entrusted to Stephens Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Scroggins was born May 3, 1966 in Oswego, Kansas; she passed away on July 24, 2008 in Pryor.
Gina attended school in Chetopa, Kansas for 12 years.  She graduated from Chetopa High School with the class of 1984.  She attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Miami where she received an Associates of Arts Degree.  While at NEO she was a member of the Norsestars and was a candidate for football homecoming queen.  After NEO Gina attended Pittsburgh State University in Pittsburgh, Kansas where she earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education.  While at Pittsburgh State she was a member of Tri-Sigma Sorority.  She did her student teaching at USD 506 in Edna, Kansas.  Gina began her teaching career at Plano, Texas, where she was selected as Teacher of the Year.  She then taught at Catoosa schools, Mills Elementary in Owasso, where again she was selected Teacher of the Year, and then she taught at Chouteau Schools. Gina was currently working for OPAT (Oklahoma Parents As Teachers). Gina was married to Terry Scroggins on July 17, 1996 in Salina; she had lived in Pryor since 1995. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Salina, where she was the Awanas Director, VBS Director and Teacher and member of the choir.  She was on the Committee for Relay for Life Youth Involvement, Room Mother at Lincoln School and “Dugout Mom” for son’s Blair’s Cowboys baseball team.   Gina was a very outgoing person and never met a stranger.  The most important part of her life was her two sons whom she was very proud of.
Gina is survived by her husband Terry of the home, sons Logan Trindley and Blair Burke Scroggins, her mother Patty Blackledge Clower and step-dad Gary of Pryor, father Glenn Clayborn and step-mother Dana of Welch, Oklahoma, brothers Jeff Clayborn and wife Shawna of Chetopa, Kansas, very special cousin Tonia Wilson of Chetopa, Kansas.   Gina was preceded in death by grandparents Eldon and Mae Belle Blackledge, Blanche Clayborn Shira and her husband Elmer
