Beatriss I. Vanderbilt, 88 of Girard, Kansas passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 at Girard Medical Center.  She was born February 20, 1924 in Neosho, Missouri, the daughter of Grover and Linda (Arnold) Brodie. Beatriss married Clarence Vanderbilt January 20, 1945 in Neosho.  He preceded her in death in 1971.  She held life-time memberships in the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries.   She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Girard.  Survivors include one sister: Dorothy Mae Daughty of Neosho; Four brothers: John H. Brodie of Kansas City, Missouri, Jack Brodie of Neosho, LeRoy Brodie of Seneca, Missouri and James Brodie of San Juan, Texas;  2 step-grandchildren: Dennis Larson of Oxford, Wisconsin and Monty Wells of Joplin, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and one step-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 2, 2012 at Friskel Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Wenzelburger officiating.  Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Neosho, Missouri at 2:00 P.M., Monday July 2, 2012.  Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until service time Monday.  Condolences may be left online at www.friskelfuneralhome.com  Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Girard; these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.   Arrangements are under the direction of Friskel Funeral Home 230 E.
